We told you this was High Focus Records week. Onoe Caponoe is playing this Wednesday at Folklore as part of Underworld, a brand new Hip Hop night in Hackney, run by Madman State, someone you will hear a lot about in the near future.

The ever-unpredictable, one-man-army that is Jonny Fairplay a.k.a Pink Eye Club bestows his presence on the holy shrine of leftfield music that is the Brixton Windmill today. Be there or be quite square.

Holy shitballs, Sit Down are playing their 100th show at The Shacklewell Arms! Heavy grunge riffs, R&B beats and an idiosyncratic turn of phrase make the duo one of those rare live treats that are worth braving any tempestuous climate. Dirty and Kyoto Kyoto are the support acts, so be there on Thursday in East London to celebrate.

You remember Rachel Stamp, don’t you? Of course, you do, and you’ve probably bought your tickets for the show at the Underworld. Last time we checked it’s not sold out, so, if for some crazed reason you’re a fan and didn’t know about the Friday date in Camden, consider yourself updated.

They’ve finished recording their debut album. They’ve got their tickets booked for SXSW. They’ve invited you to see them at Brixton Windmill. Who are we talking about? Ghost Car of course. Thursday is the date to put in your diary.

Human Pet bring their serrated noise to East London’s Shacklewell Arms on Saturday.

An alternative gig for that Saturday is over in Bow featuring a female orientated lineup, courtesy of DIY Thursdays. Trust me on this, those guys always know how to put the P into party. The line up includes Wendy Bevan, Venus and The Pill. The band night is notorious for announcing late additions that may prove too tantalising to resist, so do yourself a favour and follow them on Facebook. And anyway, why would you want to resist the pull and promise of new music?
